OK, maybe I’m overanxious about the Reggae Marathon but what’s not to love…and look forward to.
Last week we got to catch up with Reggae Marathon friends we met in 2009 and trade war stories. We also made new friends from Atlanta, Maine and get this, Japan!
Staying at our hotel was a mid-70’s year old gentleman, Niida Akira who traveled all the way from Chiba, Japan just to run the Reggae Marathon. We met at breakfast on Friday morning while he was going over the Reggae Marathon route map and we walked to the start in the rain on Saturday morning. Niida, thanks for the inspiration to keep running…hope you come back for the Reggae Marathon in 2011.
The Reggae Marathon appeals to runners of all ages and abilities. Now this is the way to travel in style in the Reggae Marathon. A new runner has been born…watch out for this young man in a few years.
And yes, I wore the Lightening Bolts. While I didn’t actually cross the finish line with them bolted on…I was having too much fun running with my son…Sally caught a picture right after the finish. Let me know what you think.
With only 359 days to go until Reggae Marathon 2011, I know what I want for Christmas.
Until next time…
