Blue sky running. It came to me the other morning as I was running: One of the things I love most about Reggae Marathon is running under the bright blue sky in the early morning with the Caribbean Sea as a backdrop. I think these runners agree:
The post-Reggae Marthon custom is a dip in the Sea, running gear and all! Remove running shoes first though…One year in an excited state I forgot to do that. That was the last of those shoes!
Whether barefoot or with running shoes, runnig along the miles-long beach in Negril early in the morning is one of life’s special treats. And following that up with a leisurely breakfast of Ackee and Saltfish with Blue Mountain coffee…Ahhh….
We say we get runners from all over the world. And that’s the truth! Runners from over 30 countries make the pilgramage to Negril every year in December. “Once you go you know”. Will you make it a habit?
Just can’t get enough of frollicking in the Sea after finishing Reggae Marathon. I could do this every day! Yes, blue sky running is the life for me!
Until next time…
