A picture is worth a thousand words. And at the Reggae Marathon in Negril there were many special pictures that captured the essence of the experience. Here are some more of my favorites:
We met Burt at the Media event Friday night during the Pasta Party. He regaled us with fabulous stories of his many experiences running his marathons and ultras. It was a pleasure to have been at the start line with him.
“That felt great! “I ran last year’s 1/2 marathon with my son (his first 1/2 marathon) and told him to “get sprayed”. He didn’t understand before the race but loved the cool water spray as we headed back toward the finish. Thank you Mr Volunteer! (Big shout-out to all the volunteers who took care of us along the route).
If there is another race in the world that has fresh cut coconuts at the finish please let me know about it. Coconut water is full of post-race nutrients I know…but it just tasted great!
The cool spray inside the tent is the third best thing about the Reggae Marathon finish…second best was the beach…first best: coming back this December 3! See you in Negril.
Until next time…
