Reggae Marathon has partnered with the Tottori Marathon in Japan for a few years now.  On March 11, Jamaica and Reggae Marathon were well represented in Japan at the 2018 Tottori Marathon.   Winthrope Wellington, from Travellers Beach Resort in Negril took on a hilly course on a chilly,  windy day.  Definitely not ‘Negril type’ weather conditions!  In those challenging conditions, Winthrope persevered and ran a personal best of 3:19:39.

March 11 was also Winthrope’s birthday…he turned 34.  “My dream came true  coming  to Japan to run” he noted right after finishing.  What a great way to celebrate a birthday!  Here are some photos of Winthrope before, during and after his run in Tottori:
